Your Game

My brother runs a night called Music Box. It’s based on a simple idea: he gets musicians and photographers together. The photographer shoots a series of images to complement a set by the musicians, then projects their work as a slideshow during a live performance.

I selected the eerie electronica of Lamplighter and proceeded to prowl the streets at night with a tripod and a fat lens. Me being me, I couldn’t just stick with pictures. A story emerged and my set combined moody photographs of playing cards discovered among street debris with silent-movie-style text slides. The collaboration, Your Game, debuted 4th March 2010 at the Universal Bar, Glasgow.

I’ve cut Your Game together into a ten-minute film. There is a plan for another Music Box on the east coast and I’m keeping my powder dry for that; thereafter it will probably go up on YouTube and you’ll be able to view it here.
